My Niece Hannah

The shooting in Arvada, Colorado, hit very close to home.

My niece Hannah is on staff at the YWAM BASE there in Arvada, Colorado, and according to my brother David if the gunman had come to the training facility 3 hours earlier the death toll might have been even greater because of their Christmas party that evening. If the gunman would have come earlier, Hannah would have been one of the individuals at the door because one of her duties is related to hospitality. Please remember Hannah Griffis and all the other staff and trainees of the YWAM organization as they grieve the loss of two members of their Christian family.

PLEASE PRAY........

• Pray for my niece Hannah as she grieves the death of her friends Tiffany and Philip.
• Pray for Tiffany Johnson's family.
• Pray for Philip Crouse's family.
• Pray for the Works' family in Colorado Springs as they grieve the death of two daughters: Stephanie (18) and Rachel (16)
• Pray for the YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Christian family.
• Pray for those YWAM trainees who will be leaving the training facility in a few weeks to serve on foreign mission fields sharing the HOPE of the Good News of Jesus Christ.
• Pray for Faith Bible Church (where the YWAM training facility is located).
• Pray for New Life Church in Colorado Springs where the two sisters died.
• Also, pray for the gunman's family as they struggle with the gravity of his actions in both of these deadly shootings.

Merry Christmas

This is a very special time of year as Christians celebrated the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. I hope that you and your family take the time during this season to read from the Bible the true Christmas story of God's amazing love in action. Too often we get so caught up in the hustle of buying presents for friends and family that we loose sight of the reason for the season. Studies have shown that during the holiday seasons between Thanksgiving and Christmas battling depression becomes a major concern for many.

If you are one of those individuals presently suffering from increasing anxiety related to the Christmas season please take a moment to stop and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. For starters, get your Bible and take a few minutes to read the Gospel accounts of the birth of Jesus, our Messiah (Matthew, chapters 1 and 2; Luke, chapter 2).

Also let me suggest that you ask God to show you some simple ways you can share the truth of Christmas with someone today who may be struggling with the pressure of the season.
